One thing that confuses many a punter is the different levels of employees at agogo bars and clubs in Pattaya. Some have a “one price fits all” approach to pricing, but more commonly, there are tiers. These could be standard and model tier, basically, the girls considered more attractive are able to have a premium price set. Some bars apply this to drinks e.g. lady drink 150/model drink 200, and it is also common to apply this to bar fine e.g. lady bar fine 1000/model bar fine 2000. This is common in bars such as Palace, Mandarin, Lighthouse and so on.
In some clubs, there are girls that dance topless and those that do not. Some clubs also charge different prices, usually dropping after midnight. Then we have a third group, because most bars employ girls who have minimal dance skills, we have the showgirls or “real dancers” who put on the choreographed shows rather than just shuffle around on stage. These ladies are either not barfineable, barfineable after the last show is done, or barfineable but with a price premium. Don’t forget to ask the staff before you assume that any particular girl can go. If a girl is employed as just a dancer, it is possible she only dances and does not go out.
Once you have visited a few gogo bars you will discover that there are various levels of enthusiasm, for dancing. Some girls will be very into it and really get going to the beat. Others will shuffle around unexcitedly wishing they can go back to their room and play on their phone. A lot of this depends on the business model of the club itself. Some simply aim to get girls out on barfine as short as possible so there is no emphasis on a good floor show. Others want customers to stay in the bar, sit with the girls and buy drinks. We will shortly publish our guide to the bars of Walking Street and LK Metro.
