Oct 24, 2018 is the End of Buddhist Lent (Wan Awk Phansa). This means that there is no official alcohol service. Of course if your hotel has room service or an inhouse bar, you can still drink as these venues are not “public.” So if you visit a hotel that has a poolside bar, you can most likely get a drink. Many hotels around Buakhow and the odd number sois have these type of bars. It’s only public places like beer bars, agogos etc that cannot serve. In addition, although FamilyMart and 7/11 observe the ban on alcohol, you can take the opportunity to explore the smaller Sois of pattaya, where privately owned shops (often based out of a townhouse) will sell the usual Hong Thong, Sang Som, thai whiskeys and locals beers like Chang and LEO. For example there are shops near KTK Royal Residence/Nova group hotels around Soi AR. In addition girls that have been in Pattaya for a while and live here will know where these small local shops are located. Or motorcycle taxis may be helpful for a small tip. Its possible that some places may charge a price premium but most won’t, mom and pop stores in Pattaya don’t really understand supply/demand enough to engage in much price gouging, but some more business-minded hotels might.
Some bars may open at midnight but expect dimished crowds. Soi6 is active however no alcohol is being served. If you have not already bar fined then maybe check out beach road, or the apps that we recommend. such as badoo or tinder. Thaifriendly is another option albeit with a price tag attached for premium membership. Of course you can always try the usual massage shops in places like soi honey and gentlemens clubs (soi bongkot 8) as well. In addition soapy massage can serve alcohol in-room.
